Winter wedding inspiration

Caroline and Jamie's wedding at The Rectory, Crudwell, Malmesbury

I'm recalling this lovely wedding from last year because it was - quite simply - a delightful day. Caroline and Jamie were married on the last Saturday before Christmas - in All Saints Crudwell followed by their reception at The Rectory.

The challenges for us photographers were that it was ferociously windy and fairly dark, and we were determined to use the wonderful space outside. Caroline and Jamie had organised a really wonderful joyful day; wintery but with a hint of Christmas, and surrounded by many many friends - including 5 bridesmaids and 6 ushers

I started with Caroline's family and the Bridesmaids in a cottage a couple of miles away in Ewen. Mike met up with Jamie and his Ushers in The Potting Shed Pub, Crudwell. The day was beautiful, the light in the church just enough to catch the ceremony without having to use flash.

There was much going on with so much to fit in and such a scrumptious venue. In the end, we did some portraits outside in the fading light and the rest through out The Rectory and by the fire. But our direction was to take informal shots of the day as it happened, so there is plenty of laughing and joyful exuberance, dancing and talking.
